June 18, 2016 Neighbour Day
Held annually on the third Saturday of June in commemoration of the 2013 floods, Neighbour Day is an opportunity for neighbours to come together to get to know one another and celebrate your community. Neighbour Day events can be as big or as small as you’d like, ranging from:
Visit calgary.ca/NeighbourDay for more information, ideas, and resources to help you with your Neighbour Day activities!
Just like Neighbour Day, Village Brewery was built with the purpose of gathering people around community. The more people that get out and meet their neighbours, the happier we are as a city.
Whether you’re hosting a large community event or a block party with your neighbours, purchase any kind of Village beer from your neighbourhood liquor store between May 1 and June 18, 2016 and send a copy of your receipt to Parkland Community Association or Park 96! Village Brewery will then donate 20% of all neighbourhood beer purchases back to our community association for future community-building initiatives (to be split 17% to communities and 3% to the Federation).
PLUS a Neighbour Day Photo Contest!
Village Brewery is also donating a tour and beer tasting for 20 people at their brewery. Share a great photograph of your Neighbour Day event with us on Twitter @FedYYC, on our Facebook page, or via email to Rebecca at firstname.lastname@example.org using the hashtag #VillageNeighbour and they will pick their favourite moment. The winning community will then get to bring the group of organizing volunteers down to Village Brewery for a celebratory beer and mini celebration!
