The Parkland community garden was established in 2009. With the assistance of provincial grants and a lot of effort from Parkland residents the garden was constructed using wooden frames and filled with compost. There are 32 plots and each plot measures 12 x 4’. There are also ‘Community plots’ that we will refer to as communal plots, that gardeners plant potatoes, zucchini, radishes, tomatoes and onions. These communal plots are located at the north and south end of the garden . In the middle of the garden there is a flower garden where perennials grow. This flower garden is bordered by benches so anyone can sit and enjoy the garden.
